BHR is pleased to offer the Anger Management Intervention Group. This group is a 12 week psycho-educational group designed to assist violent offenders in managing their angry and violent responses. This group offers an opportunity to challenge their beliefs and patterns that lead to outbursts of violence and abuse. The focus of the group is on cognitive and behavioral changes necessary to provide alternatives to violence and controlling behaviors.
Program Content:
- Participants must take total responsibility for their own behaviors
- Confrontation of beliefs and attitudes is central to this work
- Minimization and denial will be challenged by group facilitators
- Group facilitators will assist participating members to develop and maintain relationships based on respect by teaching skills and alternative behaviors.
- Anger management skills and de-escalation techniques will be presented
Program Requirements:
- Participants must sign a group contract
- Participants must follow all group rules
- Participants must sign a confidentiality waiver
- Men must not have a domestically related violent crime toward women.
